Hehe Stool Round

R350.00

The Hehe stool is a unique piece that has been handcarved from a single piece of hard wood by the Hehe people of Tanzania. They lived in isolation on a highland in southwestern Tanzania, northeast of Lake Nyara. The stools are classically characterised by three legs. The shorter stools would have been used for sitting on to milk cattle, and the taller ones would have been used for ceremonial purposes. We love these stools particularly as each item is completely unique and special. They are also very versatile. They can be purely decorative or they can be put to work as a side table for a drink, or to put one’s handbag on.
